What Type of Insulation is Right for Your Home?

Posted on on April 8th, 2015

HiResApril is Earth Month!  There are many ways to make your home more eco-friendly, but one of the best ways to improve your home’s energy efficiency is by making sure it is well insulated.  This helps keep conditioned air inside no matter what the temperature is outside.  Each type of home insulation has it’s own unique benefits.  Here are a few tips to help you determine what type of insulation will be the best fit for your home.

Spray Foam Insulation – Polyurethane Spray Foam Insulation can be applied to walls, attics, basements, and crawlspaces.  It is designed to completely fill open spaces, eliminating gaps and preventing air from escaping.

Fiberglass Insulation – Fiberglass insulation is blown into walls, attics, ceilings and floors.  It is made from 50% recycled content and because it is loose fill, gaps in the wall are completely filled.

Cellulose Insulation – This insulation is used in your attic.  It helps keep your home warm in the winter and cool as we approach the summer months.  Since many older homes completely lack attic insulation, cellulose insulation can help improve your home’s energy efficiency.

Could Not Be Beat
"I was impressed from the start with Tom the sales rep. He took detailed measurements to accurately determine the volume of foam necessary for the job. And his quote detailed the full scope of work. Other estimates were higher and did not include the site prep to protect my windows and floor. I would have had to do that myself! I got three other estimates and Good Life Energy Savers just could not be beat. When I decided to change the application from the interior of my cathedral ceiling to the exterior on my roof in order to preserve my tongue & groove ceiling Mike project mgr. came out and reassured me that they could execute this without a problem. This was a huge relief as I had been trying to solve the problem of heat loss for many years. Juan and David performed outstandingly! They were conscience during the installation and the clean up afterward. They literally went above and beyond! The room is now easily holding a consistent temperature and I could not be happier. I should have done this years ago!"
